Cordry / Sweetwater Lakes are located approximately five miles south of Nineveh, Indiana in the beautiful rolling hills of Northern Brown County.   These man-made private lakes were built in the 1960's.   Cordry Lake has approximately 260 reservoir acres and Sweetwater Lake has approximately 360 reservoir acres. Both lakes permit skiing as well as other types of boating, fishing and swimming.   Students attend Sprunica kindergarten and elementary school and Brown County Middle and High School in Nashville.   Indiana University in Bloomington and Franklin College in Franklin are within commuting distance as are IVY Tech and IUPUI Columbus.   Security in the area is provided by the Brown County Sheriffs Department. UTILITIES:  The area is provided electricity by South Central REMC, telephone service by Embarq (formerly Sprint), municipal water by the Conservancy District; oil and propane service is provided through several local companies.

SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS:  Each lot owner is assessed $24 per year per parcel of land owned to provide a road crew for snow removal and road maintenance.  This assessment is mandatory and is due in April of each year. 

POLICE/ FIRE/AMBULANCE SERVICE:  24 hour days – year around.

BOAT & MOTOR RESTRICTIONS:  Power boat-19ft. maximum; pontoon boat-28 ft. maximum; sail boat-17ft. maximum.  Pontoons- max 100 hp.  All others are rated by manufacturer. 

BOATING RESTRICTIONS:  Idle Zones – 5 mph max.  Weekends & Holidays- 40 mph. max in open water.  (See rules and regulations for additional water craft operation details.)

BOAT REGISTRATION:  Limit of four watercraft per lot owner. (See Rules & Regulations).

CORDRY-SWEETWATER LOT OWNERS ASSOCIATION(CSLOA): This community organization was formed to promote and protect common interest of the lot owners and to assist individual lot owners to improve the area.  Dues are $75.00 per year due each June and are non-transferable.  These dues are not mandatory but are recommended to support the club house, the grounds and the fire department.  The voluntary fire and ambulance department is staffed with trained emergency medical technicians and trained firefighters.  The CSLOA year is June 1 through May 31.  **The Volunteer Fire Department is always looking for new members.**
